Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:BCLS-HCP from the Heart and Stroke Foundation within the past year. Minimum of two years current Nursing experience. There is also an expectation to be a mobile worker. This role requires travel within the city of Calgary including caring for clients in their homes or in the community. Possession of a valid drivers’ license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related purposes is a requirement. You will be responsible to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. For example: lifting of approximately 30 pounds in and out of a vehicle on a regular basis and carrying this weight up and down stairs throughout the day is common within this job. Learning resources and training are provided to safely perform work. This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of a post-basic Medication Administration Course for LPN’s. Recent work experience in a community setting, Home Care experience preferred.
