Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum two years psychiatric nursing experience is required. Good organizational and conflict resolution skills required. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment required. Basic knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses required.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge on the Mental Health Act preferred. Effective deescalating technique such as NCI preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication skills preferred. Ability to provide leadership and function as a team member preferred. Proven dependability preferred. Ability to be objective in decision making preferred. Familiarity with psychiatric treatment modalities preferred.
