Unit 31 is an acute medical unit that specializes in Nephrology related services and interventions, while also caring for a vast inpatient population with complex and diverse medical needs. In this role, you will provide compassionate and professional services to patients and their families, while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that focuses on safe and individualized care in accordance with AHS values. This collaborative environment is suitable for candidates who have recent experience in Nephrology and/or General Medicine related care.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess minimum: Recent acute care Medical/surgical experience. Basic computer skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Proven competence in relevant technical nursing skills. Demonstrated responsibility to maintaining own continuing competence and willingness to learn new skills through Professional Development activities. Ability to work shifts and meet the physical requirement of the job. New graduates will also be considered.
