Your Opportunity:
The Calgary TB Clinic is looking for an experienced and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic team in providing high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, the LPN will work to their full scope of practice, providing clinical care in both the clinic and community settings. This role involves caring for individuals with active Tuberculosis (TB) disease and latent TB infection, focusing on case management, treatment, counseling, and education. Previous experience in TB management, infectious diseases, or public health nursing is highly valued as the LPN will be a key resource in the control and management of tuberculosis within the Calgary Zone. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for this position. The successful candidate will be required to complete 5-6 weeks of full-time orientation. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous recent experience (within the last year) in TB care or public health nursing, particularly in the management of tuberculosis, infectious diseases, or community-based care. Ability to work to full scope of practice, including administration of medications, interpretation of lab results, and patient assessment. N95 Fit Test. Demonstrated proficiency with iPHIS, Connect Care and Netcare. Must be able to complete client handling activities (e.g. transfers, weight shift, rolling, mobilizing, CPR), pull/push equipment, and tolerate reaching, standing, walking, sitting, keyboarding.
Preferred Qualifications:Strong clinical knowledge & practical skills in TB care, including understanding of TB diagnostics, treatment regimens. Ability to engage with diverse populations, provide culturally sensitive care. Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and work within a fast-paced environment.
