Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of Care planning and tracking tools, InterRai LTCF, Netcare, CCHSS, Microsoft office- Excel and word, Connect care. Must have moderate computer skills, with a working knowledge of office equipment. Great interpersonal communication skills, experience in conflict management and Nonviolent crisis intervention, ability to multitask and be a critical thinker in stressful and challenging situations. Dementia care and management of adverse behaviors. Be comfortable in a team working environment as well as ability to work independently with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:An understanding of wound care process, behavioral management and conflict resolution, as well as training in the Continuing care Facility Living Nurse connect care course would be an asset.
