The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary rehabilitation center with an international reputation for excellence in complex rehabilitation and specialized geriatrics. We participate in academic training programs for physicians and allied health professionals and offer an extensive array of continuing education courses. The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit 4B is a 21-bed unit. The nurses integrate knowledge, skills, and ability to ensure ongoing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care is essential in ensuring optimal care that is provided for our patients. Working in a collaborative care model, the nurse is a member of the interprofessional care team who facilitates the patient's rehabilitation care plan with the patient and family central to the decision-making process.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to frequently transfer, push, pull, reposition and assist patients using ergonomic principles of It's Your Move. Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time. Must be able to work with and manage patients with unpredictable behaviours, impulsivity and cognitive impairments. Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience working in Brain Injury, Stroke, Neurology, Rehabilitation is preferred.
