Licensed Practical Nurse
Your Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, multi-modality environment at South Health Campus Diagnostic Imaging department. The LPN monitors, plans, implements and evaluates care of patients/clients and works in consultation with Physicians, RN, Technologists, and others to meet the needs of more complex patients/clients. The LPN works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to monitor the patient’s condition and care while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. This position will share equally in any shift, weekend, or on-call responsibilities that may be expected. LPN’s complete care within their scope of practice, in accordance with Alberta Health Services policy, the Health Professions Act and the Licensed Practical Nurses Profession Regulation.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Competencies in IV medication administration and IV initiation required. Computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Acute care experience is an asset. Previous experience in a Diagnostic Imaging department is desired.
