Your contributions will extend beyond clinical duties as you embrace an integrated and holistic approach to patient care. Through education and advocacy, you'll empower patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and supportive environment throughout their journey. Aligned with the AHS mission and values of compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and safety, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, monitor, and develop care plans for patients. While performing restricted activities authorized by the CLPNA, you'll have the opportunity to make recommendations and coordinate care strategies for optimal patient outcomes. As an LPN with CCA, your responsibilities will encompass various clinical settings, including systemic and radiation therapy areas as well as outpatient clinics. Beyond clinical duties, you'll provide patient support, addressing symptom control, delivering patient education, and promoting cancer prevention and early detection initiatives. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of acute care and/or outpatient clinical experience. Proficiency in performing clinical assessments, treatments, and procedures. Excellent communication skills across various modalities (written, verbal, electronic). Demonstrated experience in assessing and monitoring clinical manifestations and risk factors, with the ability to respond effectively to changes in patient status through collaborative teamwork. Strong critical thinking skills within a collaborative team environment. Capacity to manage multiple demands and conflicting priorities efficiently. Proficiency in computer literacy, including advanced skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel, with working knowledge of Connect Care and Netcare. Commitment to continuous professional development and growth to achieve the full scope of LPN practice.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with oncology experience will be given priority consideration. Demonstrated completion of oncology-related courses, such as those offered by De Souza and My Learning Link is preferred.
