Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent experience in the Calgary Zone, regularly working on an acute care medicine/surgical inpatient unit within the last year. Current/active license with CLPNA. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) and It’s Your Move certification. Experience in Connect Care for adult acute care patients. Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) certification. N95 Fit Tested. Completion of Required Organizational Learning (ROLs – formerly Annual Compulsory Education). Demonstrated ability to work at full scope of practice, including long periods of standing/walking and occasional requirement to lift up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills essential. Demonstrated ability to work productively and positively with a large multi-disciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications:3 years of experience on an adult acute/inpatient medicine unit in the last 5 years. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or See The Person trained. Direct IV certified. Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) certification. Skilled in applying VAC dressings. Trained in applying and monitoring Pinel restraints.
