Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Requires the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching and sustained posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects greater than 30 lbs. Demonstrated ability to perform and document physical assessments. Demonstrated ability to administer medications within the acute care setting. Demonstrated critical thinking skills in clinical judgement and problem-solving. Recent experience in an acute care setting at the full scope of practice. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Must pass cardiac sciences core orientation and dysrhythmia certification exam per unit standard as a condition of employment to ensure a safe standard of care. Recent experience in caring for medical/cardiac patients.
