Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience working as a LPN on an acute medical-surgical inpatient unit within the last 2 years. Consideration will be given to new graduates who have completed a final practicum on acute surgical inpatient unit.
Preferred Qualifications:One year experience as a LPN on a surgical urology unit within the last 2 years. Experience with urology nursing skills/interventions - e.g. CBI, Catheter insertion, and manual irrigation. Current competencies in the following: IV, PCA, central line, narcan administration, infusion, medication and TPN. Current experience with VAC dressing, tube feeds, Ostomy, wound, and skin care. Proficient with SCM and clinical documentation standards.
