Your Opportunity:
Must love data! This IT Analyst II position works with the Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management (DRM) application to align HR, Finance and Procurement data effecting Alberta Health Services (AHS) authority and approval mechanisms. The job is 0800-1615, Monday to Friday (with the rare exception) and is a part of the IT Health Information Exchange (HIE) portfolio. As a central service, this small team interacts with HR, the Staff Directory, iExpense, Procure to Pay (P2P) transaction approval workflows in Oracle eBusiness Suite (e-BS), Envelope Funding, Hyperion Budget and Planning, eManager (Reporting system), e-People (PeopleSoft HR system), Activity and Costing, etc. The successful applicant will need both System and Business Analysis skills as they work with these groups and others. This position manages data integrity and integration to improve data processes and resolve data issues. These tasks require strong critical-thinking skills, project management skills, an understanding of current business processes, knowledge of best practices, as well as strong communication skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently and with minimum guidance to resolve complex business issues.

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in data management or data governance (i.e. working with data), in supporting customers using Business Analysis skills for client consultations. Intermediate to advanced level SQL applied experience. Experience in the development of business and functional requirements, technical design, and solution development. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and knowledge: An understanding of data and data relationships in the context of process dependencies. An ability to analyze large data sets. Participation in the design, coordination, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of technical solutions. Providing solutions based on best practices. An ability to work with Oracle and Oracle-supplied tools and methodologies. An ability to research business problems and create solutions that address those problems. Good critical thinking and analytical abilities. An ability to actively build and maintain positive client relationships. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. An ability to produce documentation in the English language that is technically and grammatically correct, concise, clear, accurate, and of an appropriate readability to the intended audience.
Preferred Qualifications:The following are also assets: knowledge of Financial, HR, procurement, Payroll and Costing business processes; a working knowledge of DRM (the Hyperion Data Relationship Management application; training will be provided); business acumen and the ability to explain/translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; knowledge of AHS Improvement Way, Six Sigma. Kaizen, or Lean process development.
