Your Opportunity:

You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional eager to advance your career in data integration, business intelligence, and analytics. Join our Reporting and Analytics team, where you'll play a key role in managing and transforming data for BI and analytics initiatives. As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support for IT applications, working closely with end users, service delivery teams, and technical experts. Your responsibilities will include system and application administration, data acquisition, processing, and integration. You will develop, maintain, and monitor ETL processes and data visualizations, such as reports, dashboards, and cubes. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement, system enhancements, and cloud-based and on-premise operations. In this role, you will ensure the reliable operation of IT systems, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, design and implement solutions, and lead technical project tasks. You will also participate in strategic initiatives and may be required to take part in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. This position is based in Calgary or Edmonton, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement.

Description:

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

At least five years of progressive experience in client support, data integration, data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics. Hands-on experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions. Proficiency in data integration tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS/Visual Studio, and MS Fabric. Expertise in SQL programming and data extraction from various sources, both on-premise and cloud-based. Strong understanding of data architecture, including relational and dimensional data modeling, using tools like SQL Developer, PowerDesigner, and Toad Data Modeler. Ability to work in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments. Strong experience in system, process, and data analysis. Expertise in debugging technical, process, and data issues. Ability to analyze and deconstruct complex data structures and workflows. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong documentation skills, including technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and system models. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SQL Server 2019, RedHat Linux, Python, MS Fabric, and Power BI. Hands-on experience with multiple data integration tools in hybrid cloud and on-premise environments. Demonstrated ability to independently learn and apply new technical and analytical skills while managing job responsibilities.
