IT Analyst II
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to Manager IT - Provincial Payroll and Workforce Systems, the PeopleSoft Developer/Systems Analyst will provide expert-level knowledge for supporting and maintaining the AHS e-People (PeopleSoft) application. Key Responsibilities: Provide development support to HR business clients for the PeopleSoft HCM application. Analyze complex functional requirements provided by Business analysts and translate them into application technical requirements for new functionality, enhancements, and break fixes. Complete detailed impact analysis and assessment for all requested application changes. Review all requirements provided by Business Analysts and provide technical recommendations and potential system solution alternatives. Complete application technical design specifications in adherence to standard methodology and following AHS PeopleSoft development standards. Perform all activities related to development, including coding, implementation strategy, test plan, and documentation, ensuring both completeness and accuracy. Provide after-hours on-call support for critical deliverables during bi-weekly payroll and payroll accounting calculation and confirmation cycles (as part of a rotation with other team members)

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience working directly in PeopleSoft application support as a technical developer (experience with upgrades and/or new implementations is an asset). Demonstrated successful experience with PeopleTools, SQR, AE, CI, PS Queries, and Oracle SQL (experience with PeopleSoft Integration Broker and COBOL is an asset). Strong knowledge of PeopleCode, App Packages, AppDesigner, and web services. Strong knowledge in at least two of the following PeopleSoft HCM modules: Payroll, Core HR, Benefits, and Time and Labor all preferably in PeopleSoft 9.0 or above (equivalent experience in PeopleSoft Financials would also be considered). Ability to deliver technical solutions in a timely fashion meeting business requirement and following development standards Experience working in a large, complex, and unionized environment is an asset. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations orally and in writing. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with various types of testing (Unit, System, Performance, Conversion, and Regression). Ability to work independently and drive deliverables to completion.
