Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A comprehensive understanding of the principles of adult learning and experience utilizing these principles in the creation of learning environments. A comprehensive understanding of and experience in identifying, writing, and monitoring learning goals, objectives, and outcomes. Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking. Demonstrated capacity for advanced problem solving both when working independently and in a team environment. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered please include a cover letter with your application, indicating how your experience relates to (1) the Clinical Nurse Instructor position and (2) your capacity to apply the principles of adult learning in a continuum of health care services such as Addiction and Mental Health.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing. Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an Addiction and/or Mental Health environment. Minimum 1 year experience facilitating/teaching with groups of adult learners. Formal education emphasizing Addiction and Mental Health Care. Formal education in instructional design and teaching. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
