Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Masters degree in Nursing or Nursing Education required. As a Registered Nurse in Alberta, the CNE is responsible and accountable for his/her nursing practice as defined by their regulatory College. The incumbent will require skills in adult learning principles, a variety of educational delivery methods such as in-service, academic education, experiential learning, consultation, professional reading, distance learning, research and self directed activities. Staff and educational program evaluation methods. Clinical practice standards and protocols in Ambulatory Care The incumbent will be skilled at and able to recognize and maintain confidentiality, demonstrate competence in clinical practice and leadership ability and initiative. Will need teaching and coaching skills,written and verbal communication skills,assessment skills to recognize and respond appropriately to staff learning requirement. The incumbent will be self-directed, self-motivated,flexible and adaptable. Able to prioritize work and have projects/work completed in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:Current or recent ambulatory adult teaching experience. Expertise in multidisciplinary education relating to ambulatory workflows. N95 designate fit test certificate. Proficiency in PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite applications and general computer competency. Expertise in adult education and large group presentations.
