Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Nursing or Baccalaureate degree in Psychiatric Nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Successful completion of an approved study program as required within the scope of the assigned position. Current experience in Medicine Nursing is required. Knowledge of adult learning principles. Knowledge of a variety of educational delivery methods such as in-services, academic education, experiential leaning, consultation, teaching others, professional reading, distance learning, research and self directed activities. Knowledge of staff and educational program evaluation methods. Knowledge of current clinical practice in medicine standards/protocols, and policies and procedures in area of nursing specialty. Knowledge of restricted activities and care within the full scope of practice as defined by the College. Knowledge of AHS resources and systems. Knowledge of technology available for educational initiatives such as library and computers. Demonstrate competence in clinical practice. Research skills to identify information sources and provide current, accurate information.
