Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Nursing. Minimum 5 years of full time clinical experience in relevant specialty/practice area required. Demonstrated ability to engage and build collaborative relationships with staff, physicians, patients and families, leaders, learners and external partners and facilitate group processes. Skilled in retrieval of evidence from a variety of credible sources. Demonstrated ability to lead evidence informed practice and the advancement of professional and program development to optimize quality and patient outcomes. Knowledge of program evaluation approaches and outcomes measurements. Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and initiative. Demonstrated ability to recognize complex problems and seek solutions. Demonstrated ability to partner with managers and leaders to implement change. Teaching skills in small and large group settings utilizing knowledge of adult learning principles. Computer literacy skills essential e.g. MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Surgical and post-operative nursing. Demonstrated clinical leadership especially in the area of nursing specialty practice. Change management knowledge and experience e.g. PROSCI. Quality improvement methodology e.g. Alberta Improvement Way, green belt certificate.
