In this role as the leader of the Information Management Applications (IMA) team within Screening Programs, you will be contributing to, assigning, & collaborating on rapid-paced, dynamic deliverables to ensure that eligible Albertans receive the information they need to make informed choices to participate in screening. We need: A self-directed individual who can provide effective leadership to guide the IMA team towards a vision through the completion of deliverables. A clear & effective communicator to instruct, liaise & advocate to ensure staff & business work collaboratively on deliverables. The IMA lead will actively manage a team of IT analysts to ensure smooth daily business operations, present viable technical solutions, direct deliverable prioritization, & ensure quality deliverables related to information technology & applications management for Screening Programs. This position is mainly remote within the Calgary area to provide occasional onsite support to an in-office team.

Description:

As an Information Management Application (IMA) lead, you will lead and manage a team of information technology analysts to ensure smooth daily business operations, present viable technical solutions, direct deliverable prioritization, ensure quality deliverables related to information technology and applications management, contribute effort to the team’s deliverables, as well as use your vision to guide the team. You will use your extensive technical knowledge and skills in analysis, design, development, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of provincial health information systems to ensure the team delivers high quality services for Screening Programs. You will use effective communication skills to ensure cross collaboration with AHS IT and other teams for resolution to technical and time-sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications:

University degree related to computer science coupled with industry designations/certifications in Business Analysis (BA), Project Management (PROSCI), programming and/or application architecture, with a minimum of 7-10 years direct IT experience in the healthcare field. Demonstrated computer network, business analysis and project lead experience in medium to large IT applications. Demonstrated strategic thinking, foresight, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards a shared goal. Advanced programming knowledge and experience with: MS Office applications (SharePoint, Co-pilot, Visio, Excel, etc.). NET (ASP). C#. JavaScript/jQuery. HL7. SQL. PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages. Apache, Tomcat, HTML and HTML debugging tools. Reporting/BI tools including SQL Reporting Services, and Crystal Reports. Connect Care. Ability to link and translate business and technology solutions.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated 5+ years of progressive human resource and leadership experiences in successfully leading teams to achieve deliverables. Proven leadership experience in working with diverse professionals and stakeholders in healthcare environments, including managing unionized staff. Demonstrated expertise with project management, project methodology, programming methodology, and privacy impact assessments. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Attention to detail required. Demonstrated logical critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in team environments. High proficiency in listening, verbal and written English communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science degree in Computer Science. Proven experience and knowledge of database design and development. Demonstrated patterns of professional and personal development.
