Completion of master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in relevant health promotion or population/public health or community-based experience or mental health and addictions. Knowledge and experience in chronic disease and community health approaches. Extensive experience in developing frameworks, reports, plans (e.g., business, work, project, program strategic, action, or implementation plans) and other related products (e.g., literature reviews, situational and needs analyses, logic models, etc.) Experience facilitating (engaging and mobilizing) diverse groups of stakeholders and establishing cooperative and collaborative relationships. Community development experience, including ability to conduct community assessments, hold community consultations, and develop community capacity. Project Management skills. Experience using and learning various computer and Internet technologies. Demonstrated knowledge of various research, evaluation, knowledge translation, facilitation, presentation methodologies. Demonstrated strong communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills for a variety of purposes and audiences. Experience, knowledge and expertise in the population health promotion model, health promotion strategies, chronic disease prevention, risk reduction, and health promotion in the adult and senior populations is an asset. Experience in working with diverse and high-risk populations is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of disciplines, sectors and internal and external stakeholders/partners. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including conceptualizing, strategizing, analyzing, reflecting, and problem-solving; must be able to view situations from different points of views and from different levels. Effective time management and organizational skills.
