We are seeking a collaborative and motivated Health Promotion Facilitator I to support settings-based health promotion and disease prevention within communities, workplaces and health services. This role supports the development and implementation of evidence-informed initiatives aimed at creating healthier, more equitable environments where Albertans live, work, play, and heal. Reporting to the Healthy Places Manager the successful candidate will: Support the planning and implementation of settings-based health promotion strategies across communities, workplaces and health services. Assist with the development of practical tools and resources, and training materials, ensuring alignment with best practices. Conduct and contribute to evidence reviews and environmental scans to inform resource development and knowledge translation activities. Facilitate and support capacity-building sessions for health professionals, workplace and community champions, and other partners, using adult learning principles and plain language approaches. Support knowledge translation and exchange activities that make health promotion evidence accessible and actionable for diverse audiences. Apply an equity lens to all activities, ensuring that initiatives respond to the needs of equity-denied populations. Collaborate with cross-sector partners and internal teams to support shared health promotion goals and contribute to evaluation efforts. This position is part of Primary Care Alberta. Description:

As a Health Promotion Facilitator I, you will assist communities to be healthier through mentoring, advocacy, and education. In this role, you will link individuals and/or communities to relevant health resources within the region or province and work with community partners, workplaces, and health services or to access, plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies. You will participate in special studies and/or research projects and review health-related data and identify trends related to population health and at-risk groups. In addition, you will facilitate the development and/or implementation of program-specific guidelines in partnership with other stakeholders. You will plan, develop, and facilitate workshops, seminars, and presentations for staff as well as communities, workplaces, and health services. You will also prepare work plans, budgets, and year-end reports, and provide input for departmental goals and strategies.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Sciences, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Understanding of settings-based health promotion, population health, and the social determinants of health. Experience in resource development, evidence reviews, and the application of knowledge translation principles. Strong facilitation skills with experience delivering or supporting learning using adult education approaches. Clear and effective communication skills, including experience using plain language to convey complex information. Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners across sectors. A commitment to health equity, inclusion, and improving outcomes for priority populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting health promotion or public health initiatives, ideally within health services, workplace, or community settings. Experience with resource or content development for a variety of audiences.
