Completion of bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Sciences, Health Education or a related field.
Additional Required Qualifications:Program development and training skills necessary. Mature person experienced working with elderly individuals. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work on an interdisciplinary team. Works independently: initiates, prioritizes, and manages multiple tasks. Exceptional problem-solving skills. Role model for volunteers; presents as a dignified professional with respect for older patients, families and hospital staff. Experience in program development and evaluation. This position requires walking for durations up to twenty minutes for a total up to 5km/shift and may be required to carry up to 25lbs of resource/education materials.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree preferred. Allied health discipline preferred, such as Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Social Worker, or Recreation Therapist. One to three years working in a supervisory position. Comfort with public speaking and delivery of education in a group format.
