Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year management experience. Minimum 2 years’ experience in coding and abstracting; using ICD-10-CA and CCI. Experience with health record information systems, preferably Meditech, Folio, and 3M encoder. Knowledge of access and disclosure rules in keeping with the Health Information Act of Alberta and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act of Alberta. Knowledge of Health Information/Records Management and Registration practices.
Preferred Qualifications:Switchboard and basic accounting knowledge.
