Your Opportunity:

This position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for the Diagnostic Imaging Quality Assurance (QA) program by using specialized knowledge and skill to provide education and clinical expertise to students, technologists, sonographers and radiologists. The Health Educator I - Diagnostic Imaging Quality Assurance Specialist position is responsible for monitoring the results of the QA program, as well as the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of educational activities and quality improvement opportunities. There is flexibility as to the location of this position within the Province of Alberta. At the time of appointment the successful candidate may discuss location options with the hiring manager.

Description:

As a Health Educator, you will promote existing courses, as well as develop, coordinate and deliver educational activities to support staff learning based on a patient-centered care model. You will collaborate with Health Educators from all the Zones and relevant initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the applicable college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of recognized/accredited Program in Medical Imaging Technology (MRT, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, CLXT, MRI) Member in good standing and current registration with Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologist (ACMDTT) , Alberta College of Combined Lab/ X-ray technologist (ACCLXT) or Sonography Canada. Minimum of 5 years as a technologist/sonographer. Working knowledge or RIS, HIS and PACS. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development is required. Practical experience with Diagnostic Imaging Quality initiatives. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor others. Minimum of 5 years as a technologist/sonographer. Working knowledge or RIS, HIS and PACS. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development is required. Practical experience with Diagnostic Imaging Quality initiatives. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Certification with CAMRT is an asset. Process Improvement courses and certification is an asset. Formal training in Quality Management is an asset. Equivalences of education and experience will be considered.
