Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Meet one of the following criteria: Certified through a government of Alberta licensed post-secondary institution using the provincial HCA curriculum or substantially equivalent educational background as compared to the HCA curriculum (evidence required upon hire). Deemed competent as assessed by an Alberta regulate nurse using the Provincial Competency Assessment Profile Tool. Active registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Current BCLS-HCP registration. Experience working in a Phase 1 and/or Phase 2 Recovery area required. Ability to work within a team environment to ensure work is completed quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate effectively with every member of the team. Must be reliable and dependable. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with patients of varying mobility/acuity. Must be capable of performing heavy duties requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling all patients with varying mobility. Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment - able to stand for long periods and walk throughout the day. Rotation is subject to change and may see contract compliant shift rotation of day/evenings or day/nights dependent on unit need.
