Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and be able to provide proof of such certification. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Actively integrates Patient and Family Centered Care principles into practice. Compliance with the Alberta Health Services Hand Hygiene policies. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of Alberta Health Services - compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and safety. Demonstrates critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills in order to work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team and accept direction. Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of Health Care Aide experience in the past 5 years preferred.
