Must meet one of the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Health Care Aide (HCA) competency requirements: Certified - certified as a Health Care Aide through a Government of Alberta licensed post-secondary institution using the Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum. Evidence required upon hire; or Substantially Equivalent - an educational background deemed equivalent as compared to the approved Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum. Evidence required upon hire; or Deemed Competent - assessed as competent by an Alberta regulated nurse, using the Provincial Competency Assessment Profile Tool. Evidence required upon hire; or candidate would be required to register for a HCA course from a Government of Alberta licensed post-secondary institution using the Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum within 155 hours or 6 weeks (whichever comes first), and successfully complete the course within 12 month timeline from date of hire.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recognized HCA certification or equivalent. Current certification in BCLS – HCP (CPR). Supportive Pathways program completion. Computer knowledge and ability. Physical capability of performing all aspects of the role. Excellent written and interpersonal skills required. Team work and problem solving skills essential. Motivated and able to work independently with little supervision. Required & available to work all shifts (days, evenings, nights & weekends).
Preferred Qualifications:One year current experience in Geriatric care-giving an asset.
