Family Counsellor
Your Opportunity:
The Family Counsellor provides direct clinical assessment and support for families experiencing acute mental health crisis. The Family counsellor provides brief interventions within the Summit Center for Youth Resilience - Walk In Program, and provides suggestions, resources and follow-up care that can be facilitated by the family within the patient home or community. The family counsellors engage with families to identify pressing needs and resources to navigate through the mental health crisis of the patient and the family. Using a collaborative, focused, and supportive approach to short-term care. The Family counsellor assists the family in identifying the most appropriate follow-up service for their specific needs. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:1+ years' experience working in a multidisciplinary mental health team. 1+years' experience working with children and adolescents with mental illness. Previous Walk In or other brief intervention experience. Suicide Risk Assessment training.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Brain Story Certification preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving training preferred.
