A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Business Studies is required. Candidate must also have minimum of ten (10) years’ leadership experience with Health Care or Public Safety, as well as a minimum of 5 years in Senior Leadership role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate demonstrates a clear pattern of professional and personal development and progressive senior leadership experience in an emergency services environment, including five (5) years’ experience in a senior leadership/management role. This role requires practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership, and project and program management. The successful individual has knowledge and demonstrated application of business planning, modeling concepts, and program and project management theories, principles and practices. An effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services, the incumbent also possesses leadership skills, including comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Using strategic thinking, the successful individual in this leadership position displays an ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues, as well as the ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources in a changing and multifaceted environment with diverse, complex and sensitive issues. With a proven ability to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and in managing within a unionized sector, you foster a climate of cooperation and build solid partnerships. Equivalencies of education and experience with be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate Degree in Health, Business or Leadership is preferred. It is also preferred that the ideal candidate will be eligible for registration with ACP (Alberta College of Paramedics).
