Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an Alberta College of Paramedics approved pre-hospital program, registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics and member in good standing. A minimum of 10 years combined experience in a proven leadership role, EMS Support Services and/or Emergency Services role. This experience would ideally have been gained in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience and efficiency with the following computer programs: Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. e-people including Time Reporting and Approvals and the Recruitment and Management System (RMS). Knowledge of Pyxis. Experience with AHS and EMS policies and procedures as they relate to recruitment, management, investigations, and related HR practices. Commitment to, and participation in, activities which promote professional and personal growth and development. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, a client focused orientation and a commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and confidence with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals. Managing within a unionized workforce. Flexibility, self-motivation, and effective conflict resolution skills to adapt to rapidly changing priorities within a dynamic environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree. Proficiency in project management and change management certifications or proven experience. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
