Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Certificate in one of the following trades: Electrician, Electronics Technician or Instrument Technician from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training; or completion of a two-year diploma of related technology (Electronic Technologist).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be able to communicate clearly in English; verbally and written. Must be willing to upgrade education in a changing environment. Must be physically able to carry out the duties of the position (i.e., able to walk a significant portion of time, climb ladders, work in awkward positions, lift or move heavy material or equipment, work in hot / cold or dirty environments and respond promptly on foot to emergencies). Must be able to use required equipment and tools related to servicing of equipment. Must be able to work reliably alone without supervision. Must be mechanically inclined. Must be able to work cooperatively with others. Must be able to maintain composure and make decisions in emergency situations. Must be able to organize/prioritize workload and ensure duties are completed in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Power Engineering Class 5 or higher considered an asset.
