Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence. Completion of valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must know commercial vehicle operating regulations, such as trip inspection, hours of service, vehicle weights and dimensions, City of Edmonton Truck routes and TDG regulations. Must be work shift friendly including weekends and major statutory holidays. Shifts start at 4:30, 6:00 and 7:30 AM, 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM. Knowledge of, and be physically capable of using Material Handling Equipment (motorized pallet jack, hand jack, wheelers, carts and hydraulic lift) is necessary. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and make simple mathematical calculations. Must demonstrate a courteous and cooperative attitude when dealing with customers, other AHS staff, and members of the public. Must be mature, stable and able to work within established routines. Must be prepared to submit to a driver assessment check ride and be prepared to answer specific questions related to commercial vehicle operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent driving and delivery experience and knowledge of City of Edmonton routes and regulations. Must have legible handwriting. Previous history of commercial vehicle operation with an established safe driving history.
