Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Graduation from a recognized nursing education program. In lieu of a degree an equivalent combination of a nursing diploma and 2 years of recipient transplant coordinator experience in the last 5 years is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. Minimum of 3 years, recent and regular clinical and/or acute/ intensive care experience with thoracic patients is required. Previous transplant experience is required. Must be able to work in a strong vibrant team setting as a team player. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and written (letter writing to physicians and patients)/oral communication skills. Ability to set priorities and to recognize and maintain confidential information. Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to provide safe and client centered care. Ability to work independently - use own initiative and be self-directed. Care is provided in a case management model. Computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) required. On call required and evenings and weekends might be requied. THIS IS A REGULARIZED RELIEF POSITION.
