Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and a related Masters Degree and appropriate licences and designation. A minimum of 10 years of nursing experience in the healthcare field in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Progressive senior leadership experience in a health environment, including five years’ experience in a senior management role in clinical services or healthcare operations.


Additional Qualifications:

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development is required. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Strong clinical background with progressive senior leadership experience in a healthcare environment in a senior management role with a focus on building connections across healthcare programs and services. Demonstrated knowledge of provincial, national and global nursing issues. Understanding of Governance structures including policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Understanding of nursing practice standards and competencies. Experience leading the development, implementation and evaluation of quality and healthcare improvement approaches across health system sectors. Solid understanding of health system policy and strategy, service delivery planning, change management, evaluation, and quality improvement principles and methodology. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a highly complex and politically sensitive environment. Highly effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long-term quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, creating a shared vision and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in health system leadership, change management, quality improvement, research and evaluation, project management and/or process improvement would be an asset.
