Acute Care Alberta (ACA) is seeking someone with these abilities to help ACA deliver on its priorities for Albertans, when and where they need it. In the role of Director, Corporate Services, you will oversee the executive operations of the organization to achieve these priorities and help enable health care professionals to do what they do best: care for patients. As the Director, Corporate Services, you will contribute to strategic planning, issues management and compliance, and the day-to-day operations of the organization. As this is a provincial team, this position’s location is negotiable and may be eligible for a remote/hybrid work arrangement. It is an exciting time to join the organization, as the province works to re-imagine and re-organize healthcare administration and delivery. Acute Care Alberta is a new provincial health agency in Alberta that provides active, short-term care services for patients who have a severe injury, illness, urgent medical condition, or are recovering from surgery. Delivering health care and overseeing health operations at hospitals and urgent care centres, ACA ensures that every Albertan receives the care they need as soon as they need it.

Description:

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Corporate Services, is responsible for providing senior professional and administrative management services. The Director, Corporate Services, participates in planning and implementation of initiatives and projects, achieving the goals and objectives of Acute Care Alberta and assists the Chief Financial Officer in managing the key accountabilities of the office. The Director, Corporate Services, acts on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer where appropriate in fulfilling the operational accountabilities of the position; is responsible in achieving the goals and objectives of the organization; communicates directly, and on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer, with Government officials and other stakeholders. The Director, Corporate Services, provides services in issues management, portfolio planning, project management, stakeholder liaison, government liaison, office management, and executive administrative support. The Director, Corporate Services, will assist the Chief Financial Officer in overseeing corporate related activities of the portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in health care management, business administration or related health care field. At least 10 years’ experience in health care or other public sector environment.

Results orientation and client/ customer service focus. Effective change management skills. Broad knowledge of planning and operations. Excellent verbal and written communication. Experience in project management, planning and operations. Flexibility and ability to determine multiple priorities within wide scope of responsibilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members and with senior leaders and their teams. Impeccable attention to detail and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information. Ability to influence, negotiate, and mediate resolutions to complex situations. Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and to foster partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. A proven record of engaging in ethical conduct.


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree and public sector or government experience are preferred.
