A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care profession, healthcare management or related field. A minimum of 5 to 7 years in a management role related to delivery of health services in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. The incumbent will demonstrate a clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The incumbent can demonstrate: Progressive leadership experience in health services delivery, including policy development, change management leadership, and project management. Strategic thinking and effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Strong skills in socio-political navigation in context of healthcare and community development. Respect for and understanding of cultural appropriateness and competencies and supporting diversity within workforce and programing. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized sector. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and builds solid relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees and other partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years' experience in leadership within a population or community health setting: Detailed knowledge of Alberta’s northern communities. Proven ability to work with community partners, build coalitions, and manage contractual relationships. Capacity for frequent travel across broad geography to engage stakeholders and participate in key leadership events. Resident in or willing to relocate to Alberta’s northern region.
