Completion of Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience of a minimum 5 years as a Dietitian in a healthcare setting. Recent experience supervising (precepting) and teaching dietetic interns engaged in professional practice (practicum work). Committed to continuous learning and actively seeks opportunities to share best practices. Able to work independently and schedule own daily work activities, and flexibility to modify these schedules as unexpected events occur. Expert knowledge of Alberta College of Dietitians Standards of Practice, Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education and Practice, and Key. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Strong understanding of adult education principles. Superior written and oral communication skills. Able to tailor communication style to a variety of audiences. Well-developed professional networking abilities. Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a related area is preferred (e.g. nutrition and metabolism, adult education, program planning and evaluation).
