Completion of Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in acquiring, assessing, analyzing, interpreting and communicating scientific evidence. Self directed with ability to interpret and convey nutrition requirements and recommendations across the life span in practical ways to different audiences. Knowledge and experience in working with diverse populations including high risk population groups.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge and experience in population health promotion. Experience with multidisciplinary health care teams with inter-disciplinary/inter-sector systems and with community based services. Expert knowledge of Public Health Nutrition that would include a sound understanding of epidemiology principles, public health nutrition intervention models and determinants of health. Completion of graduate level course in public health would be an asset.
