Your Opportunity:

This position covers acute care and outpatients at the Daysland Health Centre and home care within the communities of Daysland, Sedgewick, and Galahad. Home care clients can reside in their own homes, lodges or supportive living facilities. The majority of patients will be adults; however, pediatric clients may be seen in outpatients. Collaboration with all members of the team, from front line food services staff to physicians is required to ensure appropriate nutrition care is provided.

Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be able to apply knowledge, skills, and judgement required for independent practice; demonstrate a Patient First philosophy; be comfortable working with seniors and their families; be able to support both adult and pediatric patients; and have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working concurrently within a variety of practice areas is preferred.
