Completion of an Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) accredited program. Active registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits.
Additional Required Qualifications:As a registered and “Entitled to Practice” EMS practitioner with the Alberta College of Paramedics, you will participate in regularly scheduled ride alongs with EMS ambulance crews to better understand EMS equipment/fleet operations as they are utilized in emergency situations, identify equipment/process that can be improved upon, and submit detailed reports which outline pertinent findings including potential solutions. When participating with ambulance crews as a third crew member, you will be expected to function as a crew member and assist with lifts, limited scope patient care and post call clean up. All BSOS coordinator positions are filled by EMS practitioners registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics. Patient interactions will occur. Incumbents must be able to twist and bend frequently as well as lift heavy items such as stretchers (up to 80 lbs. or half of a Powered Stryker stretcher equipped with an LP15 frequently). Coordinators must be able to tolerate emergency settings, including trauma and/or medical events. Coordinators must be able to lift patients frequently, well in excess of 80 lbs, while riding 3rd on an ambulance.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum one year experience as a VESST or Coordinator. Minimum one year experience as an EMS frontline practitioner. Transferrable skills from the retail/restaurant/entertainment sectors. Explementary customer service history. Coordination/supervisory experience. Computing certification, or proven skills and ability of computer knowledge including strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
