Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Operational Excellence, Nutrition, Food Linen & Environmental Services (NFLES) the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Process Improvement (PI) initiatives that promote the NFLES departmental operational and strategic opportunities. This individual works with LEAN and Six Sigma process improvement tools. The PI Consultant is responsible for identifying appropriate solutions to NFLES senior management in a timely manner and is actively involved in NFLES process redesign and reengineering. The PI Consultant also provides project analysis support and data interpretation to NFLES leadership and administration.
Description:
The PI Consultant is responsible for multi-level implementation of PI Lean and six sigma principles and concepts and leading the implementation and training of target project areas to meet the planned goals. Their responsibility will include mobilizing and motivating both internal and external stakeholders that are required to make changes. Additionally, this position is also to educate staff in the knowledge of Lean and six sigma techniques and procedures. This person must have an extreme desire to seek improvement in all facets of our business. They need to possess the ability to convince and motivate others to make changes within the department. The incumbent should have experience in material flow, information flow (lines of communication), and practical operational nutrition food linen & environmental service experience, as deemed necessary. They need to interact with all areas of NFLES as well as Finance, Human Resources, IT systems, Facilities Management, Nursing etc. on an ongoing basis. Other aspects of the job can include team building and group facilitation, compiling and tracking data, preparing training materials and support change management initiatives when required. Actively lead projects and provide individual contributions after key projects have been identified.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (AIW Greenbelt Certification). Minimum of 5 years in a process improvement role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Previous management, teaching or project/change management experience. Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and writing), analytical and negotiation skills are essential. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. Proven experience in implementing projects and initiatives. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results.
Preferred Qualifications:
A BA/BS degree in Management, Education, or other master’s level education or equivalent experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. Change Management Certification an asset. 3-5 years clinical or hospital operations experience preferred. Experience within Nutrition Food Linen and Environmental Services an asset. Effective project management skills.
