Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Masters of Nursing degree required. Current PALS certification. Minimum 5 years of pediatric critical care experience required; with PICU experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to engage and build collaborative relationships with staff, physicians, patients and families, leaders, learners and external partners and facilitate group processes. Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of independence within a multi-layered reporting structure and with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and coach multidisciplinary teams, including teaching skills in small and large group settings. Effective communicator possessing strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and initiative. Demonstrated ability to recognize complex problems and seek solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years progressive leadership within a specialized program area in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Recent experience within the past 2 years working as a member of a Critical Care specialty team (eg. ECLS, CRRT). Recent experience in educational program design and delivery. Experience and knowledge of quality improvement, research methods, systematic reviews and critical appraisal skills. Familiarity with quality improvement databases and software.
