Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 2 - 3 years current critical care/ PACU or Surgical Suite experience associated with a tertiary care area. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Strong organizational and leadership skills are required and should include a demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to build confidence in others. Ability to manage in a highly organized and rapidly moving environment. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. A strong track record in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is necessary. Effective teamwork, conflict resolution, change and resource management skills are essential, incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills including experience in Microsoft Outlook, Office and email.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of specialized critical care education or Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in specialized area. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required, Master Degree preferred Current CPR (BCLS-HCP), Instructor level CPR preferred.
