The Youth Addiction Inpatient Programs are looking for experienced professionals interested in making a positive impact on the lives of youth and families recovering from the harmful effects of substance use. Client Care Assistants are integral members of the therapeutic treatment team, providing a supervised, safe and therapeutic environment for youth residing within our inpatient programs. As a Client Care Assistant, you are responsible for engagement, relationship building, supervision, observation, and facilitation of recreational and psychoeducational groups. Using your experience working with youth in an inpatient care environment, you will: ensure a safe, secure, and therapeutic facility; facilitate client admissions; observe clients and provide input to the treatment team; participate in medication administration; assist with preparing meals; perform bed checks; assist with minor laundry and housekeeping duties; and, prepare bedrooms for client admissions. All observations, interactions and activities are appropriately documented and communicated to the treatment team. Description:
As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients. As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in an inpatient care setting is required. Successful applicants must have current First Aid/CPR, Suicide Prevention, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, and have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 treatment environment. Candidate must have a non GDL valid Class 5 driver’s license This position requires weekday availability and a demonstrated history of strong attendance and employee reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those applicants with experience or knowledge in addiction and/or mental health treatment settings.
