Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years working in a health care environment. Minimum 3 years of health care coding experience, working with patient charts to efficiently interpret and abstract health data, within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications:National Cancer Registrars Association Oncology Data Specialist (Certified Tumor Registrar). Experience working with oncology coding and staging (ex. ICD-O-3, ICD-10, and AJCC TNM). Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding quality and productivity standards in an environment that tracks performance indicators. Experience working with AHS clinical applications (ex. Connect Care, ARIA, NETCARE). Leadership skills including demonstrated experience with coaching and change management.
