Your Opportunity:

As a team member of the Emergency Medical Services Clinical Engineering Department – Medical Device Support and reporting into the Provincial Manager EMS Equipment, the Biomedical Equipment Technologist II is responsible for the management of medical device technology including technical support of highly complex medical equipment and clinical systems. The technologist requires comprehensive knowledge of clinical practices, procedures, and equipment types and must be well versed in details of anatomy and physiology. The technologist, working independently or as part of the clinical team, is responsible for performance assurance testing and support of complex medical devices and clinical systems, ensuring compliance to CSA, manufacturer and accreditation specifications and standards. Responsibilities also include prioritization in managing your assigned workload.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Candidates with an equivalent or related education, training and experience would be considered.

As required.
