Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).
Additional Required Qualifications:Equivalent Engineering education may substitute Biomedical Engineering Technology diploma. Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical equipment technology. Minimum of 1 year experience working alongside simulation technology. Strong background in IT technology (hardware, software, networking, peripherals). Ability to quickly master, troubleshoot, and repair patient simulators and applications including electronic circuits to the assembly, subassembly, and component level. Ability to manage and maintain electronic and paper records. Effective communicator, including the ability to express technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons. Strong organizational skills, client focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse technology issues. Has a positive track record of working independently and as part of a team. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation and collaboration that builds solid relationships with key stakeholders. Flexible and adaptable to changing needs while attending to priority needs at different physical locations throughout the province. Some flexibility of hours may be required. Must be willing to travel throughout the province as needed. Driver’s license required (Class 5 non-GDL). Must be physically able to lift and move simulators and associated equipment (> 50Lbs).
Preferred Qualifications:5 years of experience with medical equipment. Experience with simulation facilities and audio/visual technologies. Experience in healthcare. Knowledge of clinical and/or adult education. Experience managing projects, including projects involving multiple stakeholders and a variety of equipment/spaces. Familiar with e-Facilities or other electronic record keeping systems. Experience ordering, receiving, and organizing equipment, parts and supplies using iProcurement or a similar system.
