Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Proven ability to make sound professional judgements. A strong understanding of the continuum of care from community, to acute care, to rehabilitation and alternate community options. Manage conflict between units, programs and families within the hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, to elicit information and gain support. Ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary team environment. Ability to work under pressure in difficult situations. Ability to facilitate direct patient and family conversations related to admission and transfer options.
