Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience with pediatric patients with tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis, and medical fragility. Excellent written and verbal communication. Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS course (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization Course). Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam (pass 90%). Charge nurse training and minimum 2 years experience within the charge nurse role. Minimum of 2 years of acute pediatric experience as an RN within the last 5 years. Must be proficient in connect care and MS office suit. Demonstrated strength in clinical nursing, education, and mentorship of staff. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement initiatives, patient flow, and appropriate resource allocation. Seasonal - Assistant Head Nurse – Stollery Pediatric Surge Capacity
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated initiative, accountability, problem-solving, organizational skills, and effective time management. Strong decision-making, assessment, and critical thinking skills. Ability to adapt and work within a fast-paced, and time-sensitive environment with competing responsibilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a busy, demanding environment with multiple competing priorities. Previous experience in an AHN or leadership role is considered an asset.
