Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a perioperative nursing course is required. Equivalent OR experience will be considered. Ability to wear lead apron radiograph protection and any personal protective equipment for an extended period. Ability to stand scrubbed for hours to support the surgical team. Minimum five years' experience in the operating room setting. Minimum 2 years' experience in Ortho Trauma service. Preference card experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in nursing. Previous perioperative nursing experience within the last 5 years. Canadian Nurses Association Perioperative CPN(C) Certification. Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) member. Current ACLS or PALS certification. Experience using EPIC. Preceptor training experience.
